We have been working with this company for over 3 years now on a custom build. We bought a house from them thinking it was going to be our custom dream home... After digging into further reviews from what we've dealt with, thankfully our house was delivered in the first place. For one unlucky person, this company allegedly took over 20K from someone and didn't even deliver the house. I didn't believe it at first but, now I'm certain it could have happened because of how this company does business. Since it was delivered over a year ago, we have dozens of requests that are in the contract to be fixed and as of today, I have not received one call back from this company with no recourse in sight. Our long list of requests includes fixes that never should have left their quality control department in the first place. To name a few we have a dresser that wasn't built square, so the drawers don't shut, and the handles were not even put on straight. A sliding barn closet door that clearly was put up and taken down, but the previous holes were never sanded, filled or painted. There was damage in delivery as far as our roof and things shifting in transit in which our pocket doors were deeply scratched and unevenly mounted (most likely from the factory). Several of our cabinet doors were hung uneven or built uneven in the kitchen and bathroom. Our cabinets in the kitchen on the left of our sink are over an inch higher than those on the right. All of the trim in the house is uneven and looks like it was done by a novice. Some of the windows are framed a certain way, other doors and window are framed another. We had no insulation behind our washer and dryer so the pipes froze, and we could literally feel a breeze coming in when it was 10F. We live in NH, so we opted for their cold weather package... Not sure they know what cold weather is... The list goes on and on. Last but not least, we got our house in November and in the dead of winter when we needed the heat the most realized they installed the wrong condenser for our mini split heat systems. When the temp reached 10 and was shooting quickly to negatives, we needed to go out and buy space heaters because our condenser for our mini splits were NOT the cold weather package and stopped heating at 5F. Thankfully we have a tiny house to try to keep warm, so the space heaters held up but cost us hundreds of dollars. We had to find a local family-owned business to do an emergency install for which Stone Canyon never reimbursed them for. Thanks for making us look like the A-holes in our newly moved into small town in NH... It has been over a year since living in this house and we are still finding issues. As a young couple trying to not be house poor and choosing to live within our means, we will probably have to do a few thousands of dollars in work just to be comfortable in our "dream home". I don't know if anyone even works here or if they are in business still since I have reached out to several layers of management and who I thought was the owner with absolutely zero response. Whoever the owner is should be ashamed of themselves for selling a lie and coming in between people's livelihoods. It'd be different if you were dealing with a commodity product or selling something made in the USA and delivering some cheap China BS but, you are putting a shotty product out for people to LIVE IN!! Shame on you... If I could give a negative star, I would. Those of you who read this, thanks for listening. It may sound like I should have done more research but, after reading the reviews and looking at videos and even driving 3.5 hours to see one of their houses on a lot of one of their distributors, I thought we had made a great decision. Turns out, you just can't trust what some companies say they're selling these days. Thanks for taking our hard-earned money and doing nothing with it Stone Canyon Homes. Well played.
