Taylor's concept came about in 1980 when David Taylor opened a small Fresh Fish Market and Seafood "cooked to order" kitchen in Glendale, Arizona. The "Shanty" as it was called had four benches in a dirt parking lot for seating. There was no beer or wine so guests were encouraged to BYOB. It wasn't long before the "Shanty" caught on with people coming from all over to get Taylor's fresh whole...
