Do not rent from them!!! It will be a mistake!!:
Okay where to I begin with TEH Management. I am only writing this review because TEH owns over 300 properties and I think it is important that people to not get suckered into renting from them. they claim to provide living quarters for low to medium income people but charge a ridiculous amount of rent for trashy, yucky, poorly kept and small properties. While they are 3rd party management company, which means they do not own a lot of those properties they are meant to maintain them they do not do that at all. I had been a renter with them for several years, at first the staff was great they seemed to do a decent job taking care of you. When you called in with a repair they usually got out in a decent amount of time depending on what it was. Major roof leaks or if your basement flooded they would be out right away. But as the years have gone by and the new staff took over things have gone from okay, to bad to worse with them. I and a few of my friends have since left the properties and I will be listing below the major reasons why.
With the exception of the desk clerk, she is wonderful the rest of the staff are very very rude they do not care at all about any possible thing that could happen, from a death, to your pregnant to you got laid off nothing. They do not care, and with a company that claims to have such high standards they really do not care and will be there with a 10 day notice before you even have a chance to breathe.
The houses, buildings and apartments are bad period. They cover up mold, rotting floors, water damage with paint and cheap flooring so when you come to see the places they look great then when you are living in there about a month later you start to notice the damages.
On the property I was renting they failed the inspection, and for months I asked when they were going to be coming to do these repairs and they kept saying soon soon soon but never came. I had a back door that the metal had rottened so badly that if i did not lock it the wind could just blow it open and if anyone wanted to break in they could have by kicking at the bottom. Also it was so bad that the flooring had started to come up from rain and snow coming through the bottom of the door. There was about a 3 inch opening gap at the bottom. It took them approximately 4 months to come out and replace the door. I was without a fridge for 2 months, when i told them about it and asked when they would be out i got told that it is a luxury that we do not have to provide it for you... 120 days past inspection at this point, I against asked about the repairs and got more excuses made to the point I started coming every single week, then I finally called the inspectors to find they got an exstention... Upon leaving the property I did ask when they would be coming because i found out the new inspection date they told me they knew nothing about it. Shortly after leaving the property I received a bill for repairs to the property all of which were supposed to be fixed according to the failed inspection.
When I left the property I owed TEH a small balance under $1000, it was an emergency move for safety reasons. The bill I received now says I owe them $4000....
They bully you into thinking you have no rights and you do. I actually got told by one of the maintenance staff which for Paul, Dave and angle i still have respect for but one of them told me saying that do you really think you have what it takes to go up against a bunch of Jewish lawyers. Regardless if you are not able to full fill your agreement and pay them there is a certain level of professionalism that business need to uphold and they do not at all. They treat there good staff the ones that have actually been there for years like c@!p to the point most of them are waiting for a good opportunity to come up that they can leave.
If you rent with TEH Leave as soon as you can. Make sure you scrub and take a video and pictures of everything little thing of the house or this will be you. For those of you looking for rental properties please do not rent from them , it will be the biggest mistake you have ever made I promise you that. If you dont believe me just go on CL and post an ad asking people that are current renters or have rented from them and just about every single one will tell you the same thing DO NOT RENT FROM TEH!!!!
