Terzo

Terzo (which means third in Italian) offers a daily changing menu of about 15 small plates and 5 large plates. Its “pan-Mediterranean” fare is under the care of Executive Chef Mark Gordon. The wine list offers over 80 options of European and Californian wines chosen to pair with the food.

A high table sits between the bar and dining room and offers communal style seating for up to 10 diners....

The menu changes nightly, though tried and true favorites like the Bruscetta (with heirloom tomato, basil and fried egg) have a permanent place on the roster.

Ok, it's a local famous place in SF but I was not impressed. The communal atmosphere is also not a very appealing at this age of swine and seasonal flu. Do you really want to share small finger-food plates with somebody? And the whole thing of strangers sitting next to you at the table is not the thing I'd like to do these days. Oh, their heirloom tomatoes are 3.99/lb in Whole Foods. Been there once, enough already.
