I must say while traveling I hardly ever get caught off guard. last night my wife and I stopped in at this establishment. At first not much to look at and that's from the outside, even worse on the inside. I thought it was going to be another sony's barbecue wannabe. but then we ordered and I must say this was a major turn of events. Just after one bight of the pork tenderloin it all came together. some restaurants take on a wonderful and very luring outside only to be disappointed once your food has arrived. As for the Texas Stockyard they did not need to dress up the outside or lure you in with shinny lights off promise, the food spoke for itself. My wife and I make it a point to travel around our area and eat at dinners and restaurants then blog how good or bad they my be. So with that said the food is very tender and the bread appeard to be homemade. I myself had the pork tenderlion with deviled eggs and green beans, my wife had the wet ribs and twice baked tater with mac an cheese. the ribs had a hard time staying on the bone and the mac an cheese was just what my mother would make. the pork was also very tender and the deviled eggs reminded me of my wife's mothers. Our waitress was very kind and had a since of pride in what she was doing " I will note that that is very hard o find anymore from any waitress" I left a very nice tip and found that this is one of the better if not best private restaurants in florida and trust me we have eaten at hundreds. Good jod to the cheif. If your ever in or near Lady Lake you have to stop and eat at the Texas Stockyard so long and farwell, Follow us next week when we fly to telluride, Co. where we are told we will find the next best thing.
