Thatcher Oaks was recommended to me by a family friend who has been working with them for over 20 years in a commercial capacity at his 3 restaurant locations. Due to his glowing recommendation ("they do the best job, make the whole process easy, the awnings last forever, etc.") I had very high expectations and I can honestly say they were exceeded! I still shopped around a bit (what can I say? Money is tight these days, I had to be sure!) so I knew that their prices were reasonable. The service was awesome. Everytime I called, someone friendly answered the phone and they set an appointment that worked with my crazy work schedule within a few days of the initial call. My sales rep. was very knowledgable about the product and company and put no pressure on us. The installers were great, on time and very professional. Honestly, better than all that is the awning!! I absolutely love my retractable! We got a hundred times more use out of our deck last year than we did in the 7 years before we had the awning combined. My husband uses the grill much more often and now I'm not afraid my kids (I have two little ones) are going to get a sunburn or overheated if we play on the deck. I would recommend a Thatcher Retractable awning to anyone who is sick of being stuck inside all summer!

I spend the winter in California and the summer in Chicago. Thatcher Oaks put a GREAT retractable awning on my Condo balcony. Now I can look at the lake without being blasted by the sun. They came up, measured my balcony, showed me samples, and their own crew does the installation. Highly recommended.

This company damage my siding, and never come back to do service, took my deposit for second awning. I got proof of emails about this incident. If you are look for awning, don't go with them. they are very bad people. BEWARE!
