Tips

Save Time:
Don't let crowds scare you away. Ordering, devouring and paying for your burger takes less than 10 minutes, so lines move fast.

Know Before You Go:
Don't ask for anything not listed on the menu--a slice of tomato, a milk shake--or the old guy behind the counter may give you a tongue-lashing.

Quality IS Forever:
I was taking my niece Sophia to her first sewing class today and we were running a little early. So, it was a perfect opportunity to catch The Apple Pan bright and early just as they were opening and before the usual crowd starts to form.

We shared a Steakburger with cheese and some fries, making sure to save room for a warm slice of pie.

They really have their system down to a science. The burger was cooked to perfection with all the fixins on a nice super soft bun. D.Licious!

The apple pie was served absolutely perfect! Warm, Fresh, and Delicious.

This could be the start of a Sunday ritual for Sophia and I.

It really is great, IMHO:
I've been eating at the Apple Pan for 25 years. When their menu boasts "Quality Forever", they ain't kidding. Burgers are perfectly cooked on the griddle, the fries are to perfection (and to order, they will do them extra crispy, if you like). The pie is hit or miss for me, but I do like a slice of the apple pie with their classic coffee shop coffee, however. And personally, I think the BBQ sauce on the hickory burger is great--tangy and sweet.

Set on the edge of the lake, this luxury resort has beautifully appointed rooms with rich wood tones, granite countertops, and slate bathrooms with large walk-in showers and deep soaking tubs. You can spend an afternoon on the private beach or use their marina for sailing, jet-skiing, or kayaking. In winter daily shuttle service is available to the ski slopes. The only lakefront restaurant in...

An "LA original", this "quaint" little spot in West LA has been turning out "wonderful" "classic" hickory burgers, "fabulous" pies and other "simple, but good" grub to a "packed" house since 1947; "it's no frills and nothing fancy" with an "old-school" staff serving at a U-shaped counter, but "grab a stool and be satisfied."

Inspired by the classic lodges in the national parks of the West, this bold building opened just before New Year's 2006 and instantly became the primo spot to hang your hat on the shores of Whitefish Lake. Lodge rooms and suites are attractively decorated, with slate tile floors, rock fireplaces, and private balconies. The preexisting resort condos include a very large tiled kitchen, a dining...

There are no tables -- just a U-shaped counter -- at this classic American burger shack and hugely popular L.A. landmark. Open since 1947, the Apple Pan is a diner that looks -- and acts -- the part. It's famous for juicy burgers, grumpy service, and an authentic, frills-free atmosphere. The hickory burger is best, though the tuna sandwich also has its share of fans. Ham, egg salad, and...

Information from the business

This longtime hangout serves up comfort food that will put a smile on your face. The prices won't hurt your wallet, either. Deli-style sandwiches and burgers are the favorite items here. The crowd ranges from old-timers who've been coming here for years, to 16 year-olds out for the first time without mom and dad.
