Good with friends & beer:
You order a variety of sea creatures(crab, shrimp, etc.) by the pound and pick the choice of seasoning(garlic butter, lemon pepper, etc.). The shrimp we ordered were succulent and full of seasoning flavor. Corn on the cob is soft and sweet. Food here is perfect with beer on a game night.

Super crowded. Some items are great. Noisy.:
First, unless you show up right when they open, you will be waiting at least 30-45 minutes to eat, up to 1 hour at peak times. For some reason, this seems to be the place where young asian kids love to eat at right now. The food is sort of cajun-y, not very asian, yet the place is packed with asians. The main items are crab, shrimp in a big plastic bag dumped on your table with a spicy sauce, and you go at it with your fingers and make a mess. Personally, I like the deep fried catfish, partly because it comes in a basket with excellent spicy fries, but also because there's no friggin' work involved. No peeling, just shove it in your mouth and enjoy. They also make a good seafood gumbo, just be sure to ask for it without rice so you'll get more vegetable and shrimpy goodness. Is it worth the wait? Not 1 hour, but if you can make it over here early and a weeknight it's decent food for the price.

"Wear a bib" and "get your hands dirty" at this midpriced Cajun-seafood chain where diners dig into "spicy", "magically seasoned" crabs, shrimp and crawfish in a casual "seasidey" setting; some gripe about "waits" and merely "ok" service, but to fans, the food "makes up for everything"; P.S. a Westwood branch is coming soon.

Texas-based chain brings Louisiana-style seafood to SoCal.:
There’s usually a crowd waiting (for up to an hour, or more) outside this modest Alhambra spot. The smallish space is rustic and festive—think fish nets, nautical rope, license plates and Mardi...
