Cold:
Was not helpful. VERY rude and interrupted me before I could finish talking. And now because of them not putting child support in my divorce decree I have to take the deadbeat back to court, so I contacted them for help or to point me in the right direction and they told me it was a conflict of interest, even though I am a previous client of theirs. And then they would not tell me what the conflict was and refused to point me in the right direction. I can't stress the rudeness or how much they did not care about my problem. I thought lawyers were supposed to help people.

Concerned Sister:
I initally had hired a cheap attorney for my brother when he went to jail. I wanted to give my brother the "best of the best" so I searched around for a better attorney, which I knew would cost alot more. A friend of mine told me about The Carlson Law Firm. After my consultation appointment (with an exceptional attorney) I was confident that I had found the right firm for the job. I was so excited and relieved. Little did I know the attorney that did my consultation was not the attorney that was going to take the case. A week later an attorney went to visit my brother and my brother quoted a different name than the orginial attorney. I looked up this attorney's credentials and he was a rookie that just graduated in 2006. I was somewhat discouraged but I believe in giving everyone a fair chance, you have to start somewhere, plus if I was worried I knew my brother would worry. Well a couple more weeks went by and I didn't hear any updates so my oldest brother and I did a walk in. When we got there the attorney didn't even have a file ready for my brother. Ok, strike number 2. Still I had some hope. Then my brother calls me up a couple more weeks later upset that the attorney gave him some bogus offer from the prosecutor. He told me the attorney was stating one thing about state jail that was the other...basically that he just didn't know the law. Strike number 3. He wanted me to get a new attorney within the firm, someone with more experience. Later on that night by concidence his lawyer called. I told him how I felt and what my brother's wishes were. He later went back to the jail and apologized to my brother and finally they were on the same sheet of music. The lawyer told me he would call me and keep me updated on my brother's case. Well there was one pretty big break in the case and I have yet to hear from him. My brother has been keeping me informed. Which is fine, considering the fact that our last telephone conversation was not at all in his attorney's favor. So we still sit and wait for the next move. Bottom line, when I orginially went to my consultation appointment I was mislead to believe that wonderful attorney was going to be my brother's. My brother feels the attorney is not fighting as hard as he should be. $6,000 later...for what? Although, I do appreciate the one break in the case. I just feel that with that much money I was paying for an elite attorney. If I had it to do over again would I have chosen a different firm? At this point in time I would have to say definitely. Next time I will do alot more research before making such an expensive, life impacting decision. Maybe the end results (since this is still ongoing) will prove me wrong. If that's the case I will have to re-vamp my review.
