This famed chain draws rock music and memorabilia fans to its large space with a double bar—decorated with hundreds of Zildjian cymbals—dance floor, bandstand, restaurant (wall art of signed photos, LPs, guitars, and gear), and private party room. When Cavern Club welcomes name or tribute bands (Doors, Aerosmith, and Pixies) occasionally on weekends, cover may range $10–$20.
“Rock memorabilia” is the claim to fame of this “noisy”, “nostalgic”, music-driven American chain, and if the food doesn’t exactly rock, it’s fine for “enjoying a burger and a beer”; but those who deem the concept “so yesterday” (“does anyone still think this is cool?”) feel it may be best left to “headbangers”, “tourists” and youngsters who “love” those T-shirts.

Tourist trap restaurant and venue in biggest tourist trip neighborhood in Boston. Big restaurant, big stage for rock shows, big shopping boutique, big everything. Little reason to go other than the occasional decent band, or just out of resigned indifference. All sorts of rock memorabilia that someone somewhere probably cares about checking out.
