The Regent dates back to the early 20th Century and is a widely photographed site. This historic theater closed down down in 2000. It was purchased by ace entrepreneur Mitchell Frank who has turned this old theater into a vibrant space featuring three distinct areas. Originally opened in 1914 as The National. Three years later, the name was changed to The Regent, as we still know it today.... After decades as a grindhouse and adult movie venue, the theater was closed in 2000, only to lay dormant for several years.
