Tips

What to Drink: Standards such as Guinness and Boddingtons are offered on draft, in addition to local Pasadena brews such as the Poppyfield Pale Ale. A list of over 30 wines range in international flavor, from France and Italy to New Zealand and Napa. Or, bring in your own bottle for a $10 corkage fee.

Know Before You Go: There are no reservations, but there is a large full bar and back lounge (unless it's rented out for a private party), if you're looking to grab a drink while you wait. Otherwise, plan to arrive before 7pm.

Great Little Gastropub:
Village Idiot has a great selection of drinks, good appetizer, friendly service and a small but quality menu. There are some specials, but I try to focus on the catfish, burger, steak and desserts. If you get there early, definitely snag street parking on Melrose; otherwise, use the valet. It's informal, but if you want to go during a busy dinner time on weekends, definitely make reservations.

Informal dining spot:
This neighborhood gastro-pub is a fun place to go for lunch or dinner. The menu is small but filled with reliable favorites like fish and chips, mussels and hamburgers. The bar is massive. Great for drinks too.

Beer, of course, is the elixir of choice with a global selection on tap,...

No-reservations, casual-chic gastropub with adds a flirtatious mix to thriving Melrose Restaurant Row.:
High ceilings and large wood-framed windows lined with lofted banquettes create an airier (read: noisier) vibe than those cozy gastropubs across the pond. An exhibition kitchen and central bar...
