The Wood Mortuary, Inc

The Wood Mortuary, Inc. traces its origin back to 1902 when John D. Wood established a funeral and undertaking business. The business opened on the second floor of his Grocery-Hardware store located on Randall Street in downtown Greer, South Carolina. After several years, John D. Wood built a chapel next door to the funeral business leading him to close the doors to the Grocery-Hardware store in 1922. He then placed his concentration on the growing Mortuary. Richard H. Wood Jr., grandson of the founder now serves as President of the company.
