Things Remembered

Had a terrible experience at this place today! I came to return items (clocks) that they had mis-engraved and their "manager" told me, in a raised voice, that there was nothing he could do to help me and that it was probably my fault for not checking the items in the first place. Mind you, I had ordered 24 items totaling over a $1000 and had done a random check on maybe half of them. I was just returning 3. I had lugged these items half-way around the world...to the Philippines and back....for my brother's wedding. They were supposed to be souvenir gifts. My brother was EXTREMELY disappointed what we did not have enough of them for his special guests. And I was disappointed to have to stuff them in my luggage again and bring them back to the US.

At the least, I expected an apology from the Things Remembered employee manning the store (maybe even a gift certificate) for my troubles. Instead, I got a "You can't return it once it's engraved!" and "You'll have to come back when the regular manager is here tomorrow!" He even yelled at me and got into an argument with me on why I was so upset. In other words, he just couldn't be bothered to address a mistake the company who employs him made. This employee BLAKE has no business dealing with customers. The company, in fact, has a satisfaction guarantee and says that if you're not happy, they'll do their best to fix it. Well, I'm not happy with your manager BLAkE....never mind the $150 I paid for the clocks that I can no longer use! I've never been treated with such disrespect. And the mistake wasn't even mine!!! Your company should be more selective with hiring people; otherwise you run the risk of losing customers - even those who have been patronizing you for a long time.
