Steal your money AND the car!:
Be weary, they might sell cars but they're con artists. They might seem honest upfront, but they don't care about their customers at all. My friend was trying to purchase a car and I was helping her. I gave her some money for a down-payment and they took it and she signed the papers. A few days later, the car broke down. They immediately towed the vehicle back to the dealership (they installed GPS on it) and claimed it was "never hers" since she did not get an Oregon driver's license. They refuse to credit back the down payment OR give her back the car. We are currently pursuing legal action against them. I wouldn't recommend these guys to my worst enemy. Stay away.

Avoid like the plague:
Last year (2013) our only car was totaled. I found a decent car online at Thomas. The car was overpriced I felt but I had some credit issues and they were willing to work w/me with a small down payment.
The sales person (we’ll call him Mr. Tweekie) told me, and was explicit that I could trade in the vehicle for FULL payoff value if I followed two simple rules.
#1 9 straight months of on time payments. Miss a payment or was late, deal over.
#2 I kept up with maintenance and do no damage to the vehicle.
In 9 or 10 months I could even get a vehicle that was not in stock. I wanted a Mini Cooper and he told me to let him know a few weeks ahead of time and he could always fine one for me. I assumed auto auctions etc.
Not only that but they could find me another lender and lower my interest rate, lowering my monthly payments as well. That was the selling point that hooked me. I bought the car and sucked up the high interest rate thinking….. it’s not quite a year and I could refinance.
Well the time passed. 10 months straight no missed or late payments and they had a Mini in stock! Lucky me I thought. I called the salesman. It seems Mr. Tweekie no longer works for Thomas Auto. I explained the deal that Mr. Tweekie and I had to the letter, full value trade in, lower interest rate. I was told to bring my car in to be checked and I could test drive the Mini while they checked it over. I asked again if Mr. Tweekie was there and my new salesman (Mr. Smiles) assured me he was not. I made an appointment to test drive and trade in my current car.
So I have the car detailed inside and out. It was in great shape and actually BETTER than it was when I purchased it. Mr. Tweekie told me that the noise from the front end was a bad tire. They sent me to Les Swab to get a new one free of charge on my way home from the dealer! Nice folks eh? Only it was not the tire. 30 days later I had to have new bearings all ‘round and new struts and shocks. Not bad I thought. After all that was my responsibility if I wanted to get the full value trade in I was promised. I show up at Thomas’ and hand Mr. Smiles the keys to a bright as a penny trade in. Test drove the Mini and loved it. I was already to trade keys, sign some papers and go home. That was what I was lead to believe anyway.
After Mr. Smiles comes back with a note pad I know this is going south real quick. The deal I had with Mr. Tweekie was wrong, I misunderstood and they don’t do business like that. Mr. Smiles said my trade in was worth less than blue book and less than my payoff. If I wanted the Mini it would cost me $2,000 down and a $50 a month higher monthly payment. I asked Mr. Smiles why he didn’t tell me this when we talked on the phone days ago and I spelled out the deal that Mr. Tweekie, Thomas auto and myself had agreed to. “Well he’s no longer here and like I said you must have misunderstood him” he said. I would not have bought the car in the first place if I had known I’d be stuck in high interest purgatory for 48 months and second, the car is better than you sold it to me due to the repairs that were made keeping what I thought was my end of the deal. Mr. Smiles just smiled.
Everyone from this day forward will hear this story from me about Thomas Auto. Oh and their sticker in my rear window now reads “Got Thomas? Get Taken.”
If you do deal with these bottom feeders, get everything in writing
