Poor quality glasses, bad optical service:
Thompson Lane Eye Care incorrectly made my glasses three times and it took 6 weeks. When they were finally "ready", the lenses were cut unevenly, did not fit the frames, and looked terrible. The lenses were also not centered properly for my vision -- the pupillary distance was way off and the glasses were unusable. I discovered this by having the lenses checked by a different doctor. Fortunately my insurance provider (VSP) was responsive and authorized for the lenses to be remade by a reputable provider.
There seems to be a high turnover of staff at Thompson Eye Care. When I originally asked the optician to adjust the frames she said that she did not know how. She said, "I am new here, I don't wear glasses, and I am not sure how to adjust them."
I spoke directly with the owner, Dr. Jessup, to express my disappointment with the process and concerns about quality. I found Dr. Jessup seemed disinterested in acknowledging and fixing the quality problems. Furthermore, Dr. Jessup personally released the glasses to me with the incorrect pupillary distance and sloppily cut lenses.
Do yourself a favor and go to a different eye care provider. The staff is friendly, but the time it took, number of mistakes, and poor quality is disturbing.
