Watch out With this business PART THREE:
We contacted stihl customer service and they diagnosed the problem - it is a known problem with their trimmer...it had nothing to do with the carbruetor that tom's charged us $180 for and did not fix the problem.
When i get the trimmer home and use it for the first time after getting charged $185 for a new carb kit the trimmer runs 5 minutes and quits - this is the same problem it had when i brought it in...charge $185 to fi it - and it isn't fixed!
I took a stilh hedger to be repaired. I specifically asked the man behind the counter to call me if it was going to cost more than $100. He assured me that it would not. I ended up with a bill for $185, when i could buy a new one for $319. I spoke to tom and he said "it was my fault for not making sure it was written on the ticket" sound like a rip off to me

AVOID this place:
We bought a Lawn Boy mower and the self-propel stopped working after 9 weeks of use. We found Tom's listed as the closest warranty service place and took the mower in. After FOUR weeks and countless calls by us to ask about it they finally called us to let us know the mower was ready. They replaced a belt, and the total cost was $118. They said the belt was only warrantied for 30 days...so we opened the manual that came with the machine and it clearly states the warranty period for belts is 90 days. We brought our mower to them well before the 90 days...although it took them 30 days to fix it. The "owner" Tom, when asked point blank "if he was the owner" acted like he was "just an employee" and lied to our face saying the owner was in NJ and could not be reached, he was "just the manager". When we asked for a printout of the bill he refused and said their "policy" is you can't have the bill until you pay for the unit, then he walked off and went into his office and shut the door leaving his employees to "deal" with us. TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL, and lying to your face, charging $118 to replace an $11 belt. AVOID doing business with this place. If I could give a negative number rating I would.
