service is not their strength:
I bought a car the day before the pandemic forced the closing of the showroom. I had a couple of issues, which were taken care of. One has not.
The door actuator, which allows the remote control to lock the doors was faulty. They replaced the actuator on July 9, 2020, and told me that it had a one-year warranty.
In early October 2020, I called to let them know that the actuator was faulty and needed to be replaced. I went to the shop on October 20, 2020, to have them verify that it was indeed the door actuator that needed replacement. They confirmed that was the part needed.
From October 20, 2020, until earlier this month, they went silent - including Jake Mackoff (the son of the owner) whom I texted on November 20, 2020, then again on November 27, 2020, January 21, 2021, February 24, 2021, June 30, 2021, July 30, 2021, and August 3, 2021.
On August 9th of this year, Jake did finally get back to me to tell me that the parts company that they use could not find the part. I pointed out that the part was readily available and asked him to email me the supplier that he was dealing with so I could tell them where they could get the part.
Two days later he got back to me via text saying that he could not put me in contact with his parts supplier. I asked him to confirm the part number and sent him a text from a parts supplier and through the manufacturer of the car that the part was available. It took me 4 minutes to google that information. He told me that his parts supplier would not "go out and purchase parts from other sites or sources, as they have their own means of sourcing parts." I pointed out that in my view, "they do not have the means to source parts" as they couldn't get mine.
"I am sorry that it did not work out," was his ultimate response.
He offered to buy back the car at a significant discount to the price I paid - basically 50% of what I paid for the car - in a strong market for used cars - simply a slap in the face.
Customer service is not their strength.
