Insensitive care:
Dog Grooming Concerns
Took my dog for usual grooming; however, hours after returning home it was apparent something was wrong. At first I thought it was allergy related coughing wheezing, gagging and respiration difficulties, but it soon became apparent that his respiration difficulties were deeper, something lodged or scratched or undetermined was causing his coughing. That day I called Betty Williams to ask if anything unusual had happened during his grooming. After several attempts, no returned phone calls. Finally, on the 5th day of desperately trying to get hold of Betty, she finally called back. Not only was she dismissive, insensitive and nonchalant about my concerns, she was downright rude. Betty disclosed nothing unusual had happed, but I know my dog and something unusual happened. I will never take my dogs for grooming with Betty. She should not be caring for pets, be they dogs or cats.

Cat-tastrophe:
I wanted to warn people about Betty Williams or at least allow you to be able to have a more educated choice as you only ever get positive references from anyone. While she seemed to be legitimate and concerned for my cat, I was fooled. I returned from my vacation, only to have to rush my cat to the ER vets because of an abcess. One so huge I gasped when I saw it and the vet said he'd never seen one so large. After calling Betty to see what happened she claimed she never saw it and he was eating fine. Well the food bowls were over flowing and my cat was visibly sick. It turns out he had lost 2lbs while I was gone.
I asked the vet how this could have happened and he said it was a puncture wound something he said my indoor only, sole cat should NOT have had. I was finally able to get Betty to call me back after three days and she denied everything. She said that she watched tv with my cat and made sure to keep his food bowl full. Ignoring the fact that she was supposed to PLAY with my cat not sit and watch tv and that he was only supposed to get 3/4c. of food a day not an unlimited supply. She also tried to tell me the abscess was my fault even though I'd been gone for a week and that it would have eventually taken care of itself by punching through the skin. Just what I wanted, infected puss all over my house not to mention the pain that my cat was in. She said she didn't notice he was sick despite his coat being yellow instead of white from not being able to move his head to clean himself and the fact that he couldn't really get up. When I saw him I noticed in less than 5 minutes. The abscess was "gargantuan" (his words) according to the vet to the point that he couldn't move his head and he was limping all tell tale signs that he was very sick.
This is my horror story. Take for it what you will, but my cat now has drainage tubes coming out of his chest and is on pain killers. I will no longer be using her as a sitter that is for sure.
