Description

Influenced by the Basque concept of a "txoko" -pronounced "choco"- a gastronomical society in which a group of individuals gather to cook together, eat, drink and socialize, we are a gastro bar striving to provide excellent food and service in a casual and unpretentious environment.

Txoko is cool even by San Francisco standards, which is saying a lot for a city that basically defines itself with the word. The coolest of the cool? Let's not get carried away. But Txoko's dimly lit and moody atmosphere is complimented by its small-plate cuisine that will somehow simultaneously leave you satisfied yet wanting more. Crispy Cardoons with brown butter hollandaise, manchego, arugula, and Meyer lemon? Yes, please.

Today, Maxey passes on word that their popular adjacent Naked Lunch will be expanding into the 504 Broadway address. This means night time hours will begin for the sandwich joint for the first time, including beer, wine, and...

This restaurant is closed txoko restaurant review:
Txoko might take its name from a Basque-type fraternity that is historically only open to men, but the restaurant is anything but “bro.” Instead, restaurateurs Ian Begg (the executive chef) and Ryan Maxey, both formerly of the Café Majestic, bring high-concept dishes to this eclectic North Beach haunt. While the overall atmosphere is moody and low-lit, quirky touches keep things lively, such as...
