Vessel

The expansive downtown craft-cocktail bar Vessel has closed. Friday night was its swan song. On his Facebook page Sunday owner Jim Romdall announced, "It's my sad duty to report that Vessel is no longer open. It hurts to pour yourself into something and have it be successful, only to have it taken away beyond your control," but no other details have been given.

In addition to his Spinasse sibling bar Artusi, Stratton loves the Seattle cocktail scene, calling it "unpretentious" and "pretty special."

Five years ago, after the Sunset Bowl closed, Kevin Langmack found himself working the door at the original Sun Liquor.
