Don't:
I lived here for 1 year in a 2 bedroom apartment. First let me say I love that there is a washer and dryer in the unit, definitely convenient. This is an old apartment complex so I didn't expect the apartment to be perfect. The white paint on the walls has been caked on in so many layers that you can barely see the where the woodwork meets the wall. There are very few electrical outlets. The fuse's are very outdated and blew many times as I was living there. They claim to have 24 hour emergency maintenance however on multiple occasions I had to call and recieved no answer all night long. The office staff is an absolute nightmare. They are rude, unfriendly, irrationally strict and judgmental. The manager would not even allow me to read over my lease before signing. The maintenance crew is very unprofessional. Maintenance is permitted to enter your home when they feel the need to (for repairs or to check on things such as smoke detectors). On one occasion I was sleeping in my bedroom barely dressed and one of them barged in my room. He stated he knocked on the front door however I did not hear him. This was a common occurrence there reported by multiple residents. The heat is free and not controlled by the tenants as there is no thermostat in the apartments and its turned on, on a certain date. The year I lived there the heat was turned on in oct, when it was still 60-70 degrees outside. At about 1am they turn the heat up so high that the inside temp hovers around 78 degrees. I had to use 2 air conditioners for most of the winter and the summer. Our windows had to constantly be left open because of the heat which made me very nervous. However everyone else's windows were open as well. The front doors are not sealed therefor there are many bugs. The crawl spaces are also not sealed and we had squirrels and raccoons in our walls and crawl spaces that made a ton of noise. We contacted the landlord multiple times about this issue because we had been loosing a lot of sleep. They never were able to resolve the problem. I liked the fact that they allowed dogs however they are very strict about them. I have 2 dogs and we walked them on a leash and made sure to clean up after them. Any other dogs feces that had not been picked up within 1000ft of our door were blamed on us. We received multiple threats of eviction for this even after we had explained it was not our pets. One of the maintenance men took it as far as to gather all of the feces up, place it into a bag and throw it at our door. We also received threats of eviction for cigarette butts on the lawn when neither me or my roommate smoke. You think of Haddonfield as a upscale place to live. The area is beautiful. Everything is right around the corner. Although the Village at Haddonfield is located in the center of gorgeous mansions it is still a cheap apartment complex. On 3 separate occasions we witnessed the police and swat team arresting criminals from inside their apartment. One of them lived above us. And yes there is a school around the corner. Last but not least the parking. The parking is atrocious. There are less parking spaces than there are tenants. Each and every night after I got home from work I would spend 20-30 minutes looking for a parking space. Circling amongst other tenants looking for a spot. I had to parallel park in the tightest of spots, park on the lawn, and sometimes walk 1/4- 1/2 mile to my home (in the rain, snow and with groceries!). My car was also hit multiple times. In the winter it's even worse. When and if the streets are plowed, the cars are all plowed in. I had to miss work last winter a few times because I could not get my little sports car out of the snow. We were very good tenants. Always paid rent on time, never had people over, were never loud, cleaned up after ourselves, made our apartment look nice and clean. I would not recommend this complex.
