Violet's Cakes

Since 2005, Violet's Cakes has been providing Retail - Cakes from Pasadena.

Parking: Parking is scarce in this part of Old Town. Look for the public lot around the corner on Fair Oaks just north of Colorado.

Look Good: Celebrating a birthday, anniversary or other special occasion? Have your cupcake customized with a written message, provided it's not the "high hat" variety (chocolate with marshmallow topping, which leaves no room for writing).

It's kind of out of the normal traffic pattern of Old Town Pasadena, but it's worth finding. The problem is that the place is only open during the daytime. Check the hours on the website before you go, because they seem to change often. That being said, they have many nice varieties of cupcakes with creative frosting and cake combinations, like the Elvis, which is a banana-nut cake topped with a peanut-butter flavored frosting. I prefer this place over Dots cupcakes, is right around the corner. Dots is good, but Violet's is better. I just wish they were open in the evenings.
