One of my favorite places to pop into during a 28th Avenue stroll, this supercute travel trailer-gone-brick 'n mortar is filled with irresistible vintage frocks and handbags (aka Wanderlust Couture) and lovely handmade local goods.

There are starter homes, starter pistols, and starter marriages, and sometimes there are starter 1969 Cardinal Deluxe travel trailers—which is how Wanderlust shopkeepers Vanessa and Dan Lurie got their start in the retail world. This summer, they outgrew their wheeled boutique and moved into a nearby storefront on SE Ankeny Street, where you’ll now find their same exceptional selection of vintage frocks and handbags (aka Wanderlust Couture) and lovely handmade local goods, just with slightly taller ceilings and sans the rubber tire foundation.
