A National Historic Landmark now part of Little Harbor State Park, this was originally the residence of Benning Wentworth, New Hampshire's first royal governor (1753–70). Notable among its period furnishings is the carved pine mantelpiece in the council chamber. Wentworth's imported lilac trees bloom each May. Call ahead for house tours, offered on the hour.
