Terrible Service. Major Ripoff:
I have serviced my boat at this Wonderland Marine West for the past two years. Last year, I felt that their services were average at best. They were very late to change my oil and did not make me feel that I was an important customer because "it was a busy time of year" for them.
This year, I decided I was going for the works. I purchased the best wash/wax service they had to offer (almost $500) to pull the boat off the trailer, acid wash, buff n wax. I also had them service my trailer and summerize the boat. They said that they were about 3-5 days behind on service. I dropped off the boat and trailer on April 10th. Two weeks later, when I called to get an update because no one contacted me, I couldn't get a straight answer. This continued for another two weeks before finally being told that my boat was ready. I drove up there (50 min commute each way), had to wait 45 minutes for them to "find" the boat (it was stored in some barn apparently). As soon as it was pulled up, I hooked up and left. On my way home, I felt that the brakes were not engaging on the trailer. So when I got home I checked the reservoir and found it to be completely empty. I added fluid and assumed that's what the reason was. Finally, I put the boat on my property, swung the tongue of the trailer to the side and immediately noticed a severed brake line. The only way I think this could have happened is someone pulled tongue and didn't pay attention when they straightened it out and severed the cable. I called the service department and Mark asked for me to send pictures to their email account. I sent several pictures. I didn't hear back so I called the next day and Mark claimed that the pictures weren't received. So I verified the email address (which was correct) and sent them again. This happened for several days because I ended up contacting the sales manager explaining my situation. Finally, Mark called me back a couple days later and said that wonderland was not responsible and it couldn't have been them that did it. Then he had the audacity to tell me that they can fix it for me. The part costs about $20 and he would charge me $200+ for labor. I couldn't believe my ears. I was completely shocked. I spent over $1000 just this year servicing my boat and Mark was still trying to rip me off! I will never ever go there again. I'd give zero stars if I could.
A few days later, I decided to inspect the cleaning job they claimed to do. I noticed old water lines on the bottom of the vessel from last year. The stern had black marks (probably from the fogging oil) around the exhaust ports. The carpet (which I did not have when I dropped off the boat and they asked me to bring back because it was part of the job, which meant another 50 min driving each way) was nasty and uncleaned. So now I'm realized that they didn't even detail the boat! What a total rip off this place is. I plan to dispute all charges. I don't feel that my boat is safe in their hands! Hope this review reaches people before they are ripped off.
Let me be clear, I have no problems with the sales department. This is strictly a review on their service department.
