The brewery is the first in PA to be entirely wind-powered. And it locally sources as many materials as possible, including the printed boxes, and the building materials--like the bowling alley wood bar--are salvaged and recycled.

Since 1994 Yards has been providing the beer drinking populace of Philadelphia with quality, handcrafted ales. Founded by Tom Kehoe and Jon Bovit, Yards has undergone several expansions and is one of the largest breweries in the area. Yards ESA is one of the beers that helped ignite a craft beer revolution in Philadelphia and remains a sentimental favorite amongst many a beer drinker.

One of Philly's favorites, Yards has come a long way from being a venture that started as an experiment in brewing by two college buddies. The engaging story of how they did it as well as the award-winning brews make this brewery worth a visit. The brewery's dedicated tours will take visitors on a nostalgic trip through its history.
