Fraud Against the Elderly:
Well, yes, Quick Covers has done it now! They have taken advantage of an 81 year old man. They took all his money, over two months ago and he has nothing to show for it. Isn’t that fraud against the elderly? Doesn’t that carry a prison sentence?
This is a story about a very nice 81 year old man who loves the water. He used to roller skate and water ski and have a boat but the doctor doesn’t want him to break another hip, so he doesn’t roller skate or ski anymore. Instead…he rides the wave on a SeaDoo! That’s right folks, the water skiing, rollerskating grandpa traded up to a SeaDoo. Unfortunately for grandpa, his garage was full.
Grandpa was wondering what he could do to protect his SeaDoo from the elements. He sure did not want the sun to ruin that SeaDoo, nor the rain! So grandpa decided to get a pre-fabricated garage. Grandpa contacted Ruben Gonzales from Quick Covers in Sun City, California. Mr. Gonzales was very nice to grandpa. He made grandpa feel very comfortable and grandpa decided that he would do business with Mr. Ruben Gonzales.
Mr. Gonzales took grandpas down payment and the balance was due upon delivery, but there will never be a delivery! Grandpa trusted Ruben, so he gave him the money. Grandpa needed an engineer to draw up the blue prints for the garage and Ruben steered grandpa to Oscar Martinez at ZJS Engineering in Fontana. He told grandpa that he works with Oscar all the time and that Oscar would help grandpa with the plans.
Well, Oscar, and ZJS Engineering, helped themselves to grandpas money and gave him a blue print without a foundation. Now grandpa trusted Ruben and so trusted Oscar and took the plans to the county to get a permit. As per goverment stupidity, the clerk gave grandpa a permit to build even though the plans did not have a foundation. Due to budget cuts, most likely, she had no idea from blue print to blue jay!
Anyhow, grandpa is on a roll now. He hires workers and is about to pour the foundation when…..the inspector arrives and shuts it down. That was one month and one week ago. Since then grandpa has been begging and pleading with Ruben and Oscar to get his plans done correctly. Neither wants to deliver. Both blame the other.
We use to do that when I was a kid. He did it. No, she did it. WOW! How professional, right?
So what’s the next step. Well, any idiot can draw a concrete slab, that is, unless you’re an engineer at ZJS Engineering Services in Fontana that is. So, the next step is to find a different Engineer. Done. Then, over the next couple days, put together all the paperwork and on Thursday evening file a civil law suit. Finally, after that, a visit to the District Attorney for San Bernadino County.
No one takes advantage of my DAD!
