Description

Originally named the Oxford Tavern, The Zoo Bar Cafe is located across from the National Zoo in northwest Washington D.C. for decades. It is one of a kind. and has slowly metamorphosed into a serious place for music, food, and interesting conversation. Even the name has morphed into "The Zoo Bar Cafe in 2003"., however the regulars just call it the Zoo Bar

Editorial Reviews

“Friendly” bartenders tame a “lively” crowd of “locals” at this “neighborhood joint” in Cleveland Park offering a “unique view” of the National Zoo entrance from its sidewalk patio; the rustic, exposed-brick-and-red-walled interior is in “need of a face-lift”, but the “superb” live blues several nights a week has music fans saying “you really can’t beat this place.”
